Job Summary
Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Transition House Worker will:
- Be responsible for the smooth functioning of the residential program during the day shift while ensuring the safety of service recipients; and
- Offer supportive counselling, referrals and advocacy appropriate to meeting the individual needs of women who are survivors of wife assault, sexual assault and emotional abuse.
Qualifications
The Transition House Worker will have:
- A two-year diploma in the area of women’s studies, social work or counselling psychology;
- Two years experience in a supervised women services program; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Hours of Work
8:00am to 8:00pm Day-evening
8:00pm to 8:00am Overnight
Rate of Pay
Step 10 for day shift- $25.95
Step 5 for night shift- $22.02
