P.E.A.C.E - Formally Children Who Witness Abuse

Psychoeducational support for children and youth who have lived in homes where domestic violence has occurred.

Serving Children and Youth who are between the ages of 3-18 and have experienced domestic violence, including emotional abuse. Children’s eligibility will be further determined during an intake appointment to assess their current risk and their developmental ability to complete the program.

Program Summary

PEACE – (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment)

Formerly Children Who Witness Abuse Program. Provides group and individual psychoeducational counselling for children ages 3 – 18 who have witnessed abuse, threats or violence in the home. Program focuses on expressive/play therapy techniques to increase children’s safety and skills and to help them understand domestic violence is not their fault, with the ultimate goal to reduce intergenerational abuse. Children may be referred by a parent or a service provider.
